The Italian pianist Luca Monti studied at the Conservatory in Terni with Elio Maestosi, at the Hochschule für Musik in Zurich with Jürg von Vintschger and, finally, at the University of Music in Vienna with Professor Noel Flores. In addition, he has also attended master courses with Vera Gornostaeva, Hans Graf, Vlado Perlemuter, Harvey Shapiro, Rudolf Buchbinder, and Sergio Perticaroli.
Achieving technical perfection and finding his own individual style were the essential aims of his musical education, during which he has also been acclaimed internationally: he is prizewinner of a number of prestigious competitions, such as the "Beethoven Piano Competition" in Vienna in 1989 and 1993, Casagrande-Italy, Senigallia, and ARAM Rome.

Vienna forms the basis for his career which takes him to festivals and concert halls all over the world such as the Musikverein and the Concert House in Vienna, the Bruckner House in Linz, the Hamburg Concert Hall, the Teatro Ghione in Rome, Teatro delle Erbe in Milan, Portogruaro Festival Italy, the Ansermet Hall in Geneva, the Izumi Hall Osaka, Casals Hall Tokyo, Menton Festival, Gstaad Festival, Dubrovnik Festival, Divonne Festival, Bregenzer Festspiele. He performed with a large number of orchestras such as the Niederösterreichische Tonkünstlerorchester, the Orchestra Pro Musica Salzburg, the Orchestra of Salta (Argentina), the Orchestra of Byalystok (Poland), the Orchestra of San Remo (Italy), the Zagreb Philharmonic (Croatia), the Orchesterverein Vienna, the F. Ferrara Orchestra (Italy), the Orchestra da Camera dell' Umbria (Italy) and the Amadeus Ensemble (Austria) conducted by Isaak Karabtchewsky, Walter Kobera, Jorge Uliarte, Wilfried Tachezi, Federico Mondelci, Robert Zelzer, Ottavio Ziino, Jost Meier, Marco Gatti and many others.

Besides having an intense career as a soloist, Luca Monti is also deeply involved in chamber music: he has won numerous 1. prizes in international competitions with the "Ison" Trio (including the "International Osaka Chamber Music Competition" – Japan and the Int. „J. Brahms Chamber Music Competition in Pörtschach“ - Austria) and plays regularly in concerts throughout Europe, South America and Japan; his recordings are featured by many European radio and television stations (Radio Vaticana,ORF, RSR, RDS, RTSI, HR, etc.). Luca Monti's main partners are the soloists Julian Rachlin, Lidia Baich, Joji Hattori, Christoph Stradner, Anton Sorokow, Roland Lindenthal, Eszter Haffner, Melina and Orfeo Mandozzi and mainly members of the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Wiener Symphoniker and the Wiener Kammerorchester
Today Luca Monti lives and works in Vienna, which has now become his adopted home, and where he teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts and at the Conservatory of Vienna – Private University.
